An assortment of handmade works made with mixed media. The first piece shows an elephant suffering from a bullet wound in the head. Beads, chains, small human figures and animal limbs flowing out of the wound allude to animal cruelty, specifically the ivory trade and the mistreatment of elephants. This piece was assembled on a wood board, the same base used for the string world map, while the paper swirls are glued to a canvas board.
The map and paper pieces are not as conceptual as the elephant piece. The map is a straightforward design inspired by handmade/vintage home decor. In contrast, the paper swirls piece is more abstract, encouraging any interpretation to be made.
